LECTORS AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

Lectors are the individuals who render service to the Lord and His people by proclaiming the Word of God at the Eucharistic celebrations on Sundays and holy days of obligation. They may also lead the Prayers of the Faithful. Having been entrusted with the Word of God, a lector communicates to the rest of the faithful the divine message.

Eucharistic Ministers perform service to God and His people in the celebration of the Mass by assisting the Celebrant in giving the Sacred Body of Christ to God’s people at the Sunday Masses and on holy days of obligation. At certain Masses on Sundays and holy days of obligation, Eucharistic Ministers may also give the Precious Blood of Christ to the people.
