Director of Religious Education
Meet our New Director of Religious Education
My name is Irek Mocarski, I am from Wysokim-Mazowieckim in Poland. For the greater part of my childhood, I was raised in the city of Łomża. About 20 years ago, I moved to Chicago and met my wife Cindy. Throughout the years, our marriage has strengthened with great faith and has grown into an immeasurable love.
I have been a parishioner of Saint Francis Borgia for over 8 years and volunteer in numerous ministries. My journey here at SFB began with the RCIA Program where I was introduced to the idea of becoming a Deacon. It is parish friends, religious education teachers and great role models from this wonderful community that helped in my formation in the Diaconate Program; for this, I am eternally grateful. I am currently enrolled in the Institute for Diaconal Studies at University of Saint Mary of the Lake, Mundelein Seminary. My academic studies include Catechism, Sacramental Theology, Christology and Soteriology, Homiletics, Spiritual Theology, Presiding at the Rites, and Moral Theology.
Service to others is something that I am very passionate about. I enjoy working with both the youth and adults. I have found great reward in helping others find their faith. I am very excited to have this opportunity to work with all of you as one family in Christ. As you to see me around please feel free to introduce yourself!
It is with great trust in the Lord and a humble heart that I ask the Holy Spirit to guide me in forming and catechizing the future of our Church.
Our Lady of Częstochowa, pray for us!
Yours with an open heart,
Religious Office: (773) 625-1705
WELCOME Students Grades 1-8
St. Francis Borgia Religious Education Program aims to create a climate for faith development by providing a stimulating, supportive atmosphere in which a child is free to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ. We believe in the power and relevance of Catholic religious education. Our Religious Education Program should lead our families to worship and prayer, to participation in efforts that develop community, and motivate our children to Catholic Christian living and service among the future adult Church.
Classes meet Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
RCIA is designed for those who are considering joining the Catholic Church through celebrating the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil. The process welcomes adults who have never been baptized and those who have been baptized in another Christian tradition.
RCIA at St. Francis Borgia Church is an engaging, respectful, challenging and ENJOYABLE journey.
